First organized in 1988 and sponsored by Youth Service America, National Youth Leadership Council, and a host of other organization on the International Coordinating Committee, Global Youth Service Day is a time to focus the world’s attention on what young people around the globe are contributing to their communities. Millions of youth around the world will organize and/or participate in opportunities to serve their communities while their year-round contributions are recognized and honored. Also recognized are the contributions of organizations and individuals to empowering young people. Global Youth Service Day will be celebrated April 23-25, 2010.
